Teaching and Research fields


Teaching: mechanics and materials, forming processes.

Research: Mechanical surface treatments, shot peening and laser peening processes, SMAT (Surface Mechanical Attrition Treatment – patented in 2000 by UTT), nanostructures, co-rolling, residual stresses, neutron and X-ray diffraction methods, mechanical properties, wear and fatigue properties, post-treatments adapted to additive manufacturing.

- 2017-2020: Head of the LASMIS Lab.

- Sept.2018 - Feb.2019: Detached researcher to CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) - research collaboration with ICMMO in Orsay - Paris Saclay University - https://www.icmmo.u-psud.fr/en/.

- Sept.2010: Invited Researcher for 6 months at the University of New South Wales (Sydney – Australia).

- Jan.97 - Aug. 2011: Associate professor at the University of Technology of Troyes.

- Oct. - Dec. 1996: Assistant professor, three month contract, at the Laboratory of Electron Microscopy (INSERM U314) at the University of Reims. Development of a research group on biomaterials. Study of the crystallinity of hydroxyapatite plasma sprayed coating deposited on prosthesis – Electron Microscopy and X-ray diffraction method.

- April - Sept. 1996: Post-doctoral position at the Laboratory of Materials Science at the University of Reims. Study of the ultrasonic shot peening process – Application to Al-SiC composite.


- Dec. 2009 : Habilitation thesis of the Université de Technologie de Compiègne.

- Dec. 1995 : PhD of the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG) in Materials Science.

- Sept. 1992 : Master degree in Materials Science of the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble.
