Ecocloud is a Platform for sharing information on the ecological and social transition.
The platform addresses the following issues:
- Oversized products: components that are unnecessary to manufacture, repair and recycle.
- CSR/CSRD pressure: a proliferation of reporting requirements and regulations.
- Regions/terriotires under strain: heatwaves, water shortages, critical resources.
Our response :
- Product-based approach: Eco-design, LCA, resource efficiency, frugality, LowTech, design for sustainability.
- Business-based approach: Transition processes, resilience (adaptation and transformation).
- Regional/territories approach: Flow analysis (MFA, metabolism), circular economy, industrial and territorial ecology.

The platform comprises 4 units:
Digital Unit
It is a platform gathering academics, industrials and people from the civil society. The theme of the platform is the sustainability of socio-technical systems. This platform has been developed through the GIS S-mart and supported by EcoSD network.
The aims of the platform is to be:

a showcase of the actions and the general dynamism of the network,

a tool of animation on the theme of sustainability,
-
a place where people from civil society can learn,
-
an accelerator of projects of research and teaching on sustainability.

Autopsy unit
Calculating the technological ‘frugality index’ per functional unit of the product under scrutiny. enables an assessment of the product’s unnecessary technological excess in relation to the service it provides. The workstation resembles an autopsy table. It consists of: a lifting table; disassembly tools and personal protective equipment; a 360° camera (for audio and video recording) mounted on a support arm; a storage rack for the disassembled component.
Mockup unit
Early-stage mockup (product, user) creates a non-functional physical mockup of the product ; create a persona that is as realistic as possible ; have the persona interact with the prototype and gather feedback ; analyse the interaction between the persona and the mockup (usability, etc.) ; validate the shape, dimensions, concept and, where appropriate, the design ; Design Thinking.
Urban unit
It is a socio-technical-ecological unit in the form of an urban micro-farm. The unit helps us to understand the interactions between technology, the environment and society. Introduction to the assessment of territorial resources (tangible and intangible); introduction to energy assessment; introduction to water assessment. The Unit contains a Technical container, office/staff room container ; cargo bike; drone; solar panels ; wind turbine ; weather station ; portable batteries ; temperature, humidity and energy consumption sensors ; rainwater harvesting system ; agricultural and LowTech equipment.
