Institute of Technology FoR Cybersecurity Training and Research

An Institute at the Core of Cybersecurity Education and Research

ITFoRCy’s mission is to organize and enhance UTT’s cybersecurity activities around two essential pillars: education and research. The institute addresses a broad audience including full-time students, apprentices, professionals from the public and private sectors, as well as large companies and regional authorities.
  • Cutting-Edge and Innovative Training : ITFoRCy will offer specific programs, including interactive modules, simulations, and online tools for a practical and concrete immersion in cybersecurity challenges. In collaboration with UTT's Center for Pedagogical Innovation, the institute will develop content adapted to the needs of each sector, including professional certifications, customized training for businesses, and courses designed to raise awareness within organizations about cybersecurity best practices.
  • Research and Development of Innovative Solutions : Research within ITFoRCy will focus on emerging cyber threats, new techniques for infrastructure protection and intrusion detection, as well as Artificial Intelligence algorithms applied to cybersecurity. The institute will also participate in national and international research projects, solidifying UTT's expertise in a field crucial to national and international security.

Major axes of ITFoRCy

ITFoRCy is structured around four major axes:

  1. Protection Against Cyber Threats: Preparing learners with fundamental skills, including detection and incident response techniques, cyber crisis management, and penetration testing. The institute will offer recognized certifications to validate student competencies, as well as CTF (Capture the Flag) challenges for a more engaging learning experience. Finally, efforts will concentrate on three essential areas: writing white papers, designing cybersecurity tools for industry, and organizing conferences dedicated to defense strategies against cyberattacks and their solutions.
  2. Data Protection and Compliance: Training learners in data protection standards and risk governance, in line with new European regulations. ITFoRCy will also offer specialized courses in cybersecurity law and risk management. Security audits and impact assessments will be an integral part of this axis. Particular attention will also be paid to quantum cryptography and its applications.
  3. Security Operations and Analysis: Developing skills and tools in advanced security analysis, notably using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to detect weak signals, and integrating Cyber Threat Intelligence. This axis includes the use of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
  4. Training and Awareness: Organizing workshops, MOOCs, and awareness campaigns to promote a cybersecurity culture among the general public and businesses, while offering practical and educational resources. Research will incorporate a sociological and psychological dimension, allowing for the analysis of human behavior facing cyber threats. This approach will enable the development of more effective awareness campaigns and tools better suited to the real uses of end-users.
